1. First enable the feature in your MeetMax event
Go to Configure > Event Settings > Enable Features and find the section on integrations and check Yes for Eventbrite.
2. API setup in Eventbrite
Accounting Settings > Developer Links > API Keys
Click Create API Key
The contact information for MeetMax can be your support rep, you account rep - this does not matter. What does matter are the following two sections and you must use the following links:
Application URL
https://www.meetmax.com/sched/eventbrite
OAuth Redirect URI
https://www.meetmax.com/sched/eventbrite/callback
Once you have submitted this form, you will be able to see the API details for the Key you just created. The ones you will need on the MeetMax side are the API Key, the Client Secret, and the Private token values. Copy these to a note file.
3. Adding the API details to the MeetMax event.
Back in the MeetMax event, go to
Configure > Event Settings > Eventbrite
Copy the values you just created. Select the Event Code from the drop down of events using the Eventbrite integration. Submit the form.
While on this MeetMax page - check the Field Map. This is important if you have any custom fields on either platform.
You will then be given a webhook url from MeetMax, whichin turn needs to go into Eventbrite. Copy this.
4. Setting up the Eventbrite webhook.
What we have done so far is sufficuent for importing data, but to capture new attendees and cancellations, there needs to be the webhook component as well. This triggers Eventbrite to reach out to MeetMax when key actions occur on the Eventbrite side for this event.
Accounting Settings > Developer Links > API Keys
Click Add Webhook - and you will get the following form. Copy the link from MeetMax into the Payload URL section of the form. Select your Event from the drop down, and check "attendee.updated" under Actions. Submit.
That completes the integration.
5. Initital import,, and one caution
To bring the MeetMax attendees up to date with what you collected so far in Eventbrite, go to
Attendees > Eventbrite Import
Wait for this next screen and click Import from Eventbrite.
Now the caution, the MeetMax attendee form, should not have any required fields that are not created into Eventbrite. Otherwise the import will fail for every record. Be sure to visit the form in MeetMax and chack all the required fields are off.
Configure > Form Layout > Attendee
The settings in Eventbrite let you choose which fields are required. Please REQUIRE First, Last and Company - because these are system required in MeetMax.
