How it works
Your attendees will need to provide a cellphone number and opt in to receiving texts from MeetMax.
With those two elements in place, MeetMax will send a reminder message before each of their scheduled 1x1 meetings:
Enabling text messaging
To enable automated text messages for your event, reach out to our Support team. They’ll configure two settings for you:
- How many minutes before each meeting should the reminder message send? We can set this between one minute and 15 minutes.
- What should the message say? Your message can have up to 250 characters. We can add the attendee’s first name, the time of their meeting, and the name of your event.
Changing the time format
The time in these text messages can be in either 12 hour format or 24 hour format.
To change it, head to the Configure menu. Choose Event Settings, then Main Details:
In the Time Format field, choose your preference:
Adding an opt-in for attendees
You’ll need to make sure the Cellphone and Text Notifications fields are added to your Attendee registration form:
You can make either or both fields required if you like. You could also create a form rule that reveals the Text Notifications field only when someone enters a cellphone number.
Cellphone field setting
We recommend adding a Validation setting for the Cellphone field.
In the Form Editor, head to the Type column and click on the Edit icon:
In the pop-up, head to the Validation section. Choose the phone number format that fits your event:
With the Validation setting in place, MeetMax can ensure that cellphone numbers are always formatted correctly. That way your attendees will never miss a text notification.
Can attendees opt out of text messages?
Your attendees will get a text alert before each of their 1x1 meetings. You can grant them the option to opt out of all alerts.
Menu setup on your side:
You might need to update the menu on your Attendee page so that the Contact section is available. This lets attendees revisit their contact information.
- Step 1. Head to the Configure menu, choose Site Design. Then choose Menu Editor, and Attendee Menu:
- Step 2. Make sure the Contact section is unchecked:
Attendee’s steps:
- Step 1. To opt out, the attendee will log into their MeetMax account.
- Step 2. Head to the Contact tab.
- Step 3. On that page, the attendee can opt out of texts. Be sure to click Submit to save the change:
