Moderated meeting program
In a Moderated meeting program, all meetings are scheduled and managed by an event Admin.
Moderated meeting programs are great because you have full control over the quality of 1x1 meetings at your event. You can match Companies with the Attendees they’ll most want to meet, and vice versa.
With that said, Moderated programs are definitely more work for you and your team!
A moderated program can take a couple of forms:
Meetings by request
- Before your event, you can prompt registered Attendees to log into MeetMax and request meetings with specific Companies.
- Once all those requests are in, you’ll use that information to schedule everyone’s meetings from your Admin account.
- As you book the meetings, they’ll appear in the meeting schedules of each Attendee and Company. As the admin, you’d be in charge of making updates to the meeting schedules.
Meetings without requests
For some events, you might want to just schedule meetings for your participants, without anyone making a specific request. Our Support team can configure MeetMax to help you make optimal pairings.

Unmoderated meeting program
In an Unmoderated meeting program, your Attendees schedule meetings directly with each other. They also handle their own meeting changes. MeetMax keeps everyone up-to-date with automatic notifications.
An Unmoderated program certainly means less scheduling work for you! You’ll have access to make adjustments when needed, but the bulk of the tasks are done by Attendees.
The success of an Unmoderated program, however, depends on Attendee participation. That raises a few considerations:
- Will your Attendees be willing to submit profile information, to help people evaluate whether to meet with them?
- Are your Attendees likely to take the action of logging into MeetMax to submit meeting requests?
- How likely are your Attendees to take the action of booking meetings from those requests?
In addition, you’ll want to think about how you'll give your Attendees instructions to complete these tasks. (Our team can help you with guides.)
As with the Moderated program, an Unmoderated program can be based on meeting requests, or not.
