Why you need an Apple Developer account
By Apple’s definition, the app our team builds for you is considered a “template app.” This means that:
- MeetMax is providing the overall format and functionality (template).
- You’re providing the content, which includes all the details and participant data from your event.
According to Apple’s Guideline 4.2.6, template apps must be submitted by the content provider. This is why you’ll need to create an Apple Developer account. But don’t worry - that’s all you’ll need to do. Our team will handle the actual submission for you.
Once you’ve set up your Apple Developer account, you’ll add a member of our team to it. Then we'll take over the submission from there.
Step 1. Sign up for an Apple ID
If you already have an Apple ID for your work email address, skip to Step 2.
An Apple ID is an account that gives you access to Apple’s App Store and other services.
You can create an Apple ID from any computer or device. Visit this page, which has steps for all environments.
If you have any questions, reach out to your Support representative.
Step 2. Enroll in the Apple Developer Program
With your Apple ID set up, you’re ready to enroll as an Organization in Apple’s Developer Program.
Apple has a few requirements for enrollment, including a D-U-N-S® number and legal entity status. See the Enrolling your organization section of this page for all the requirements.
Apple will collect a $99 USD annual fee from you after we submit your app. |
Go to this page to enroll in the Apple Developer Program. You’ll sign in with your Apple ID to get started.
Step 3. Add TWST as a Developer Member
Once you’re enrolled, you’ll add a member of our team as a user on your Apple Developer account. That way, we can submit your app for you.
Use Apple’s instructions to add us as a user. Your MeetMax Support representative will give you the correct email address to use.
Granting us permissions
You’ll need to give our team member a Role in your Apple Developer account, so we can submit your app. There are two ways to go about this.
Option 1: Admin permission
This is the simplest option. Mark the role as Admin as shown below:
Option 2: App Manager permissions
If you’d rather not give our team member Admin permissions, you can use this more restricted option.
Choose the App Manager role, and check the Additional Resources shown below:
Test User
In order to fully review your app submission, the Apple App Store requires that they be able to log in and review all its functionality.
Our team will set up a test user on your MeetMax account to use with the app submission. Once Apple has given final approval for your app, we’ll remove this account for you.
