Setting up the Integration

First, you need to add Marketo integration as a feature within your event.

Then, you need to give MeetMax permission to connect to your Marketo account.   Which means filling in the values shown below in MeetMax at the Configure > Event Settings > Marketo tab as shown below.

Getting your Setting from Marketo

First you need to create a an api user for MeetMax in Marketo.  Log into your account and go to

Admin > Launchpoint

and create a new service, The Name can be anything, the Service Custom.  The Description anything and the API Only user should be set already.

then click "View Details" to get the key items.

you need to copy and paste the Client ID and Client Secret into the respective fields of MeetMax.

Then you need to get the Endpoint and Identity values.

Admin > Web Services

you need to copy the Endpoint and Identity url values into the fields in MeetMax.

That is all you NEED to do to set up the integration, but you can choose to set up Channel values in Marketo.

Channels for more specific progress mapping

You can create channel tags in Marketo - that can then be used to tag Marketo names as they comes thought the MeetMax registration process.   Those tags can be used for reporting, or for creating rules.

Create a New Channel for this process

Admin > Tags > New Channel

and call it something like MeetMax Progress

Within the Channel, you need to create Program Steps that correspond with what people might do in MeetMax.  Like being sent an Invite, declining it, accepting it, registering, actually attending the event.

One of more has to be assigned, according to Marketo, as Success.   And the Step values should rise.  I used 10,20,30... but you could use 1,2,3.

So far - this has all been a one-time set of tasks.  Lastly, applying the Channel.

Applying the Channel to your Conference Events

In Marketo you need to create some kind of a Program that will track peopleas they get to different steps in registration.

This you will need to do for each event - to distinguish them in Marketo, one from another.

Marketing Activities > New > New Program

Call the Program something related to the event itself,  and assign it the Channel you just created (eg MeetMax Progress).

Then in MeetMax, you tell MeetMax that this is the program you are using for this event.    (A Program is a little analogous to a Campaign in other systems, and Program Steps a little analogous to Campaign Member Status).  And assign the Program Steps to the progress in MeetMax
