Where is it?
MeetMax web pages have two zones where you can insert custom content, as shown below:
- At the top, below the header
- At the bottom, above the footer
Here’s a sample Welcome page. These zones are available on all pages your participants can see:
In these spots, you can add custom text and images (and update them anytime). In MeetMax, these content insertions are called Messages.
You’ll create custom Messages from the Configure tab:
We’ll show Attendee pages in this article, but the process is the same to add Messages to Company pages. | |
If you also want to customize the Header and Footer of your event website, check out this article. |
Which pages do I customize?
You can add custom Messages to any of the MeetMax web pages your participants see.
Here’s a sample of the menu bar Attendees see when they log into MeetMax. All of these pages can have Messages added:
Keep in mind that if you’ve created some Custom Pages for your event, you can’t add Messages to those. Instead, you’d just edit the page content |
Adding a custom Message
As an example, let's add a Message to the Request Meeting page that Attendees see. We’ll add a reminder of our deadline to submit meeting requests.
(The process to add Messages to any other page will be the same, once you’ve located the correct Message to customize. More on that in a moment.)
- Step 1. Head to the Configure tab. Choose Site Design, then Messages:
- Step 2. On the Messages page, set the Filter to With Custom Messages. That will display only the Messages our team has set up for your event:
- Step 3. Now, we’ll add a second filter to narrow the list down further. You can often use the name of the page for this filter.
- In this example, we want the Attendee’s Meeting Request page. So we’ll set the Page URL filter to contain the word request:
- If this method doesn’t locate the Message you need, try this method of filtering the Messages page.
- Step 4. When you’ve located the Message, click the tag icon to open it for editing:
- Step 5. Now, it’s time to choose the zone of the page where your content will go:
- • TOP: Places your content above the main page content.
- • BOTTOM: Places your content below the main page content.
- You can add Messages to one or both areas. In this example, we’ll insert a TOP message.
- Step 6. When you choose a zone, that opens the content editor. You can add text, images, and links here.
- Click Submit to save:
- Step 7. You also have several options for displaying your Message. Hover over the question marks to learn more about each one:
- You can return to this Message at any point during your event, and change the content. Participants will see the new version automatically.
-
Copying and pasting directly from a Word document can create formatting issues. Instead, paste your text into a Notepad app first to remove all formatting. Then paste into the MeetMax editor. If you want to have different versions of this Message display for different kinds of users, you can set up Message Tags. If you want to add merge fields to pull personalized details, reach out to our Support team.
What participants see
When you’ve saved your changes to the Message, you’ll be able to preview it.
Head to the top right corner of the editor and click the View Sample link:
MeetMax opens a sample of the page in a new browser tab:
Alternatively, you can also preview the page by logging into an Attendee account.
What’s next?
Now that you’ve added a custom Message to a registration page, you can also:
