If you have a previous event stored in MeetMax, you can use its settings in a future event.

MeetMax has two options for reusing events:
- You can clone any Template Event (more on this below).
- You can create a new event and then pull selected settings and configurations from an old event.
Anyone with the Event Administrator role can copy events.
| MeetMax stores each past event for 15 months after its conclusion. Learn more about our data storage policies here. |
Where is it?
You’ll make copies from the Configure tab:

What’s copied?
Whether you clone a Template Event or pull settings from a past event, MeetMax can copy:
- Configurations
- Settings
- Forms
- Site menus
- Time Slots
- Custom web pages
- Custom Message content for web pages and emails
We don’t copy any event-specific data, like user records, presentations, activities, meetings, and so on.
Cloning a Template Event
Our Support team can convert any of your events to a Template Event. That makes it available for cloning any time.
- Step 1. To use an existing Template Event to create a new event, head to the Configure tab. Choose Events, then Create Event:

- Step 2. Fill out the form fields for the event type, dates, time zone, location, and contact details.
- Step 3. Under Copy setup from previous event, you’ll see a menu of your current Template Events. Choose the one you want to clone. Then click Submit:

MeetMax then creates your new event, using all configurations of the Template Event you selected.
Copying settings from a past event
As an alternative, you can pull specific configurations and settings from any past event, including your Template Events.
- Step 1. As a starting point, you’ll create a new event. It becomes the “container” for the settings you’re about to copy.
- Head to the Configure tab. Choose Events, then Create Event:

- Step 2. Fill out the form with the event type, location, time zone, dates, and contact details.
- Leave the Copy setup from previous event field blank. We’ll be using another method.
- Click Submit:

- Step 3. In your new event, head to the Configure tab. Choose Events, then Copy Event:

- Step 4. You’ll now see a list of copyable settings.
- At the top of this list, use the drop down menu to choose one of your past events to copy from.
- (It doesn’t have to be a Template Event - you’ll see all of your events here.)

- Step 5. Once you have a Copy From event chosen, click the checkboxes for all the configurations and settings you want to copy, as shown below:

- Step 6. For the Replace field:
- • If your container event has no event data in it, leave this setting at No.
- • If your container event already contains some event data, choose Yes to override it. If you don’t want to override any existing data, choose No.
- Step 7. Click Submit to save.
| If your container event already contains some Time Slots, you won’t see the Time Slots option here. If you delete the existing time slots, you can return to this page and copy from another event |
Moving event-specific data
- If you need to move user data between events, you can export the Attendee List and/or Company List, modify them as needed, and then import them to the new event.
- If the new event is in the same location as a past one, you can export the Meeting Locations List and then import it to the new event.
- If the new event will have the same presentations, you can export the Presentations List, then import it to the new event.
- Activities and Hotels need to be re-entered manually.
